We recently sent a community survey to everyone in our network, including to the incarcerated artists. One of the incarcerated artists included this note, quoted in this post, at the end of their survey.

They have trusted us to share this first-hand experience with the broader community. We humbly ask you all in turn to please share this widely. We need to effect change to carceral system procedures as quickly as possible to ensure the physical and mental health of those on the inside, as well as the surrounding communities. UPDATE: We've received word that the opening of the exhibit "Marking Time: Art in the Age of Mass Incarceration" is postponed due to MoMA's current closure. There is not a timeline at this moment for the opening, but we hope to have more information in the coming weeks. We want very much to celebrate our network artists and their accomplishments, as well as this groundbreaking exhibit, so we will continue to share these celebrations with the most up to date info that we have. Thank you all for the love and support!

For our most recent blog post, @annabelfmanning checked in with us to let us know what she's been up to. Folks, she's been busy! From guiding the interns of the Men's Empowerment Program (MEP) at Harlem Community Justice Center (HCJC) to create their own exhibit entitled "My Block", to a collaborative series called "a self of my former shadow", to contributing to building the Prison Art + Aesthetics Project (PAAP) to which youth involved in MEP and in other HCJC programs will be welcomed as participants.
